2022
Elsa Abreu wins SNSF Starting Grant!
We congratulate Elsa Abreu on winning this prestigious grant with her project "Ultrafast THz control of quantum materials under pressure via electronic bandwidth tuning".
New paper published!
Simone Biasco, who left the group after a PostDoc with us, published his work on studying the effects of high-field THz excitation in the low-band-gap semiconductor InSb. Numerical simulations accounting for impact ionization manage to model the experimental data.
Sabina Gurung leaves after her PostDoc with us
Sabina Gurung did a PostDoc in our group. She studied the dynamics associated with the charge-density wave in K0.3MoO3 under optical excitation. We thank her for her work and wish her a lot of success in her further career.
Tim Suter published a paper
The Ultrafast Dynamics Group published a new paper with the evaluation of a solid-state biased coherent detection device in combination with a spintronic emitter in a THz time-domain spectroscopy setup. With this approach we generate and detect THz pulses in the frequency range of 0.1-9 THz.
Larissa Boie successfully defends her Doctoral thesis
We congratulate Larissa Boie on the successfull defense of her Doctoral thesis. She presented her achievements on her work on "Towards more efficient and specific driving and probing of coherent phonon dynamics in solids". She will stay with us to finalise her projects until the end of the year. We then wish her all the best for her future career.
